It’s a great day for customer service in Maria’s world! Instead of going with the finance company that gave me the go-around, at the suggestion of a friend I applied for an auto loan with a local bank, Mission Federal Credit Union. I walked in this morning and was greeted by a loan officer, Jeff, who immediately cleared his desk and introduced himself. I told him that I was interested in applying for a loan, so he explained the whole process to me, answered all my questions and listened patiently to my concerns. The deal-maker for me was when he asked, “Would you like me to get a cup of coffee or water for you?” Wow - do you ever get that from those big banks?
After applying for the loan it was off to Starbucks - my office ;) I ordered a grande coffee and a pastry. I was given the pastry, but not the coffee. I didn’t say anything because I thought they were brewing up a new pot. The girl who rang me up didn’t mention it, so I just stood there to the side waiting. Finally after about ten minutes, I told her about the coffee. “Oh! I’m sorry!” and she quickly grabbed a Venti cup instead of the Grande I ordered. Then she handed me a coupon for a free drink for later and my smile turned into a bigger smile!
It's the little things, people! It's the little things that make people smile! A free cup of coffee or a cup of water is nothing if it means a lifetime customer, right?
