"It's just hot in here and there's nothing we can do about it...."
This is the answer we get in Jamba Juice when people asked why the drinks were so watery. The place was packed like it was the "cool club" to hang out in. People lined up on this very heated Sunday to wait 20-30 minutes for a refreshing juicy drink. My patience wore thin when we came to the realization that someone took our drinks, so we had to wait even longer. Then we get the There's-nothing-we-can-do-about-it line. Wrong thing to say to someone who just spent all day packing and moving, has a headache from not eating, and just waited 30 minutes for a drink!
(Insert empathy here..)
Oh yes, I'm sure there's something that can be done about it. How about cranking up the AC? If you have a business that depends on serving your customers nice, cold smoothies, shouldn't that issue be addressed?
However, I'll give the people credit for remaining calm in the midst of my irritation. They seemed to be working pretty darn hard at cranking out the drinks.
