As competition gets fierce in this industry, companies are finding ways to create an "experience" for customers. Supermarkets are no longer a place to buy groceries, they're growing into these hang-outs - similar to the bowling alley I used to hang out after school during my high school days! Picture live band entertainment, sushi bars, coffee bars, and nutritional seminars at your local supermarket. Some people may like this, but personally,
I like to be in and out of the store when I go grocery shopping. However, I do like the convenience of buying a coffee at the Starbucks coffee cart whenever I go into Vons or Albertsons. And even those these services are great and creating an inviting atmosphere to shop in is good, nothing beats a helpful and smiling cashier that spreads positive vibes ;)
