Pleas-ure
noun
1. The state or feeling of being pleased or gratified.
2. A source of enjoyment or delight: The graceful skaters were a pleasure to watch.
3. Amusement, diversion, or worldly enjoyment: “Pleasure . . . is a safer guide than either right or duty” (Samuel Butler).
These two words - "my pleasure" - are music to my ears. I heard this at Starbucks the other day when I ordered my usual - tall, iced mocha.
"It will be my pleasure to make that drink for you," said the barista.
It caught me off guard and put a big smile on my face. She said it with such sincerity, like that was her ultimate passion in life.
Next time a customer says, "Thank you", try responding with "My pleasure". Because after all, doesn't what you do bring you much enjoyment?
