Yes, it's getting close to that time of the month...bills...bills... Today I pulled out my phone bill. I had signed up for a $21 plan, but somehow it always ends up being much, much more than $21! Upon closer examination I noticed all these little "fees" that are tacked on - "Network Access Surcharge: $6.50", "Carrier Access Charge: $2.38", etc. And let's not even get into the gas and electric bill!
Then I read Karen Blotnicky's article:
"Sometimes it seems that, like physicians, businesses should have to take some form of Hippocratic oath: "First do no harm." We have companies peddling harmful products (just look at tobacco), and companies padding their bank accounts with miscellaneous fees, when such expenses should come out of their revenue and not be extra billed."
Yet we sit around and let companies do this! But then, I don't want to be one of those people who wants to sue left and right for little injustices - or are they little?
