It was the weekend of standing in line. Thank God I always pack a book and some writing materials in my purse because it passed the time today as I waited to return the Uhaul. There were two lines and as I stood waiting for my turn in one line, the lady who was supposed to help me picked up her two boxes of pizza and simply left without a word to me. Couldn't she see that I was next and waiting patiently? She could have said, "She will be helping you next, so please go to the other line." It's only common courtesy to acknowledge the customer. For a refresher on this, I recommend reading a previous post, How To Handle A Long Line.
But that wasn't the only place I had to wait in one long line. Did everybody call in sick this holiday weekend? Or perhaps it was just meant for me to have some down time and do some reading while waiting in these lines.
Hubby said to me today, "You have alot to write about on your blog about your customer service experiences this weekend, huh?" Oh yes, I do....

Maria, you should have asked for a piece of her pizza to tide you over the meal missed by their slow service.
At a cell phone service store recently I waited in the car outside a large strorefront window while my senior VP waited in a loooooog line with frazzled clerks and harried clients.
Finally, after a long period, a young man left the line and came to the storewindow and mooned his friends in a car, then as casually as he walked up -- he went back to his place in line -- as if the world had just been paid back for this injustice. Nobody except those of us in cars outside even noticed it....His friends looked shocked....
