An article at destinationCRM.com says that employees in England with good customer service skills "are a rare breed". Recently, there was a report put out by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) in partnership with the Department for Education and Skills and the Sector Skills Development Agency. It stated that 38% of the employers noted not being able to find the right staff with the right people skills. They also discovered that 67% of those working in sales positions had a hard time grasping customer-handling skills.
Perhaps there needs to be a change in the education system in which kids are taught at a young age how to interact with each other. I know that some private schools have etiquette classes, but maybe public schools should adopt these types of classes as well. Any thoughts on this?
