Here's an interesting way to find your next customer service candidate... Ron Kaufman offers a different way to conduct a customer service "interview":
"You want to give great customer service? Conduct job interviews at 8pm on Friday night. When applicants arrive, ask them to help you pack a last minute customer order before the interview begins. Then have someone call in (pre-arranged) pretending to be your customer. Help them patiently over the phone, delaying your interview a few more minutes. Watch your applicant’s mood throughout this process. Hire only those who nod and smile as they watch you go the extra mile."
I like this way of finding good candidates! You can find articles and tips from Ron Kaufman by visiting: http://www.upyourservice.com/site/upyourservice/library/index.html
If any of you will be in the Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) area on September 7, Ron Kaufman will be giving a talk on the key principles behind customer service. To register, call 03-7880 3046, fax 03-7880 3706, or email adc[at}synergyentire.com.

This is indeed a good way of sizing up a would-be employee. Often interviewees come in preparing to impress, or put their best foot forward. Though, interviewers can see through the bluff, still others are good at it and get hired. LOL.
