In customer service we have to tolerate many people. There are times that we have to deal with customers that don't share the same values as us, but at the same time we do have to help them solve their problems. There's the customer who spanks their child right in front of us or the customer who needs help but reeks of alcohol. We just have to bite our tongues and let go of our judgments. That's where tolerance comes in.
With regards to sales, Mike Sigers of Simplenomics has a post on the subject of tolerance. This is Mike's definition:
"Tolerance is respecting that opinion without believing or sharing it....
Tolerance is getting rid of prejudice and hatred...
Tolerance will also help you get rid of your vanity..."
FYI: Current Studio has a contest right now called "Seeds of Tolerance". Produce a video on tolerance and win $100,000 cash!
