I must be really tuning into other people's thoughts because today... As I was leafing through my "idea" notebook, I came across this quote that I jotted down from one of the authors of The Big Moo:
"Care! That, in just one word, seems to be the essence of good customer service."
I was going to write up my own post about it tonight, but then came across Seth Godin's post that sums up some of my thoughts:
"People didn't used to care enough about coffee, or gas mileage or ski bindings or Darfur. The challenge of marketing is to get people to care enough... because deep down, most people care. Just not high enough on their (your) priority list of life problems."
I may also add here that many people who work in customer service or sales care enough to get you to buy from them, but don't care enough to see how things are working out after the sale.
