Hmmm...maybe I should make Fridays the official "Tip Day", what do you think? I just came across another article which provides some good customer service tips....
Tip number eight caught my attention:
"An internet order does not give you authorization to call someone at home or work to offer add-on purchases or services."
This brings to mind the massive amounts of email I receive on a daily basis from numerous websites vying for my attention and urging me to buy something because it's only available for a "limited time".
Anyhow, for those of you who have just started an online business, this tip is more for you. I certainly hope that the online business experts know better! Fortunately, I don't get any phone calls from businesses, but sometimes a business will send me emails about other products or services - which is ok if it's done only once or twice a month. However, there are those who feel that sending an email everyday will get me to purchase from them again. All that does is annoy me. I end up sending them an email asking them to please take me off their list. It's very important that you ask permission from the customer to send them emails about other offerings.
