Many customer service reps are not paid what their worth. So, how do you compensate them for their time if you can't afford to pay them a higher wage?
You offer them words of encouragement and praise.
People thrive off simple words like, "You're doing a great job." and "Keep up the good work." These might sound cliché, but if is heartfelt and genuine, then these words won't go unnoticed.
But don't stop with your employees. Offer words of encouragement and praise to your customers as well. How about..."I appreciate that you've come to see me about this problem" or "Thank you so much for your business".
Words are very powerful. That's why communication is so important in business - especially when you are on the front lines dealing with customers. Words have the potential to make your business...or break your business. Choose the right words and encourage others.

Maria, thanks for the words of inspiration and encouragement here.... More reasons for encouraging words all around -- this time from a brain based viewpoint.
