So, my friends and I went to visit Raul again over at Hometown Buffet. Actually, I had no idea he was going to be working on a busy Memorial Day night, but I was pleasantly greeted by him and was excited that he was going to be clearing our tables.
Side note: I find it real interesting that I could actually be excited that someone is going to be there to clean our table and refill our drinks. Maybe it's because I know I'm going to stuff myself into oblivion and don't feel like plodding over to the soda fountain.
This reminds me of several posts over at Customer Relations regarding customer expectations. On my first visit to Hometown Buffet, I didn't expect any type of service at all except the usual clearing-of-the-table service. However, I got the "Is everything going ok" and "Can I refill your drink?" services.
However, on my second visit, I still didn't expect very much. It's Hometown Buffet - who expects great service there, right? But, once again, I received excellent service from the same person, Raul.
So now, I'm going to tell everybody what great service Hometown Buffet has. Their expectations are going to be high...Will they pass the test? The next time you eat at Hometown, let me know...
