"Ask not what your teammates can do for you. Ask what you can do for your teammates."
--Earvin "Magic" Johnson,![]()
basketball legend
NBA basketball playoffs are in full swing and this is generally when you get to see the real nuts and bolts of a team. You get to see who really has the heart and will to win, who are the givers, and who are the takers. These types of people can also be seen in business. As a matter of fact, teams are everywhere around us…
Working in a team environment can be a challenge sometimes. If you watch The Apprentice, you know what I mean. There are people who think about themselves, people who just think about the company, and then there are people who look at the bigger picture and think about the role that they play in the whole business process. These individuals think about what how they can help others on the team succeed because they know that the more people they help, the better off everybody is.
When there’s a healthy collaboration of ideas between your fellow coworkers and your customers, no problem is too big. Customers come to you because they have a problem and they hope that you have the means to help them. This is the time when teams are built. This is the time for you to show what you can do for them.
