I recently discovered Dave Lorenzo's Career Intensity Blog and I highly recommend it to those of you working in the customer service field. Dave's book and blog is devoted to anybody in business, but I think it would be especially valuable for those of you who need that little push and motivation to keep doing what you're doing.
I understand that customer service can be quite stressful at times and you're wondering, "What they heck am I doing here? This wasn't even my first career choice! I'm just doing this until a 'real' job comes along..." I know - I had those thoughts too!
However, believe it or not - that customer service job is providing you with the skills you need to survive in business and in life - no matter what you do in the future.
So, back to Dave Lorenzo's blog...I especially like his post today called "Heart and Mind" because I think it applies to those of you working in customer service. Here's a snippet:
"...Extend your focus on heart and mind to your customer as well. Show him rationally what value you can offer, and persuade him emotionally that working with you is a pleasant endeavor that adds meaning to his life."

Thanks, Maria!
