Walmart Has the Best Customer Service?

Hubby and I just had a conversation about customer service...

He says, "Walmart has the best customer service, hands down."

"Really?" I ask.

"Yeah.  There's someone at the front to greet you when you walk in and there's always someone around if you have a question.  Plus the cashiers are usually pretty friendly."

I tried to recall my experiences with Walmart and I have to say that I wouldn't call their service extraordinary.

Sorry, Walmart, but Nordstrom still has top position in my book.  Oh, and Black Angus is probably tied for #1.

And you?  What company do you rank as your #1 company for customer service?

I live between Stanford and Somerst KY. I stop at the walmart in Stanford Ky on my way home from work almost every day to pick up something or get gas for my truck. Today I went to walmart to pick up a few things and was somewhat unhappy when I left.

I had purchased 5 12-pk of pepsi's. Walmart sale price was $2.50/per 12-pk. There was an add in this morn paper that listed kroger as having 4-12pk of pepsi for $10.00 and they would give
1-12pk free. The cashier said very loudly that they did not have to match anyone giving away anything free. He spoke lound enough for other people to hear. He then called his supervisor over and she gave me a lecture also as if I was try to steal from walmart. All I was doing was giving quote to add in today's newspaper. If walmart does not want to match add in newspaper that is one thing but don't speak like I am trying to steal from walmart when I am only giving quote to kroger add. I see no reason why I should be embarrassed in front of other people by a cashier and his supervisor.

Hi Steve,

I completely agree with you. All the cashier had to say was, "I apologize, but we can't match the ad special." That's it! No need to call a supervisor over... Being loud or obnoxious is simply unprofessional.
