I've been there. I know how it is to work on commission and be dependent on those sales to eat and pay your rent. However, being pushy can oftentimes backfire on you. The customer is forced to buy something, ends up with buyers remorse, and then comes back a few days later to return it anyways. Then that commission is taken back by the company, right?
Save yourself some time - instead of being that pushy salesperson, simply offer great customer service. Those people will remember you, as Chris De La Rosa did when he went shopping for a laptop computer:
" I was quite clear to the associate that I was only pricing at this point and was not going to be making a purchase today. Kuma took the time to answer the barrage of questions I had about the model he recommended and all with a pleasant and knowing attitude. Hat's off to Kuma for a job well done! It's the first time I've walked away from a store, knowing all I could possibly know about a product and with the a comfortable feeling that this will be a good purchase for me."
Since I haven't given out a Good Customer Service Story in quite
sometime (mine excluded), today I'm going to give it to Chris De La Rosa....Thanks for sharing, Chris :)
