I started my spring cleaning today and I scrubbed away on my hands and knees, I was reminded of a day when I was a salesgirl and my Assistant Manager told me to scrub the floor of the store.
I wasn't quite fond of this Assistant Manager at the time because of her perceived "bossiness". She spent most of the time on the phone talking to her husband than doing any work. And she wanted me to scrub the floor? However, I did it - at the same time mumbling and grumbling to myself. I felt like Cinderella.... What could I say? She
was the manager and I was just a salesperson.
In retrospect, I'm glad she had me get down and scrub the floor. I wouldn't have learned the value of maintaining a clean store. It speaks volumes when you have a sparkling and organized store for your customers to shop in.
