When I need motivation in my life, I turn to Dr. Wayne Dyer. I've read several of his books and they have definitely helped me in finding my true purpose in life. I just finished Manifest Your Destiny and wanted to share a passage that will maybe help you in whatever work that you do.
"By turning the purpose of your life into one of service and leaving behind your self-absorption, you discover the irony of manifesting. The more you choose to be of service, the more profoundly you experience unconditional love, and the more you find materializing into your life.
Service is best thought of as a continual focus in your life rather than being limited to certain kinds of giving activities and the sharing in relationships. Service is a state of mind that expresses love rather than fear, and trust rather than distrust. It is focusing on meeting others as equals..."
If society as a whole can grasp this concept of life as being in continuous service to others, maybe the work that we do will be more meaningful and purposeful. We're constantly helping in some way and in some capacity. Our lives are built around service.
If we want customer service to reach higher levels, then each one of us needs to look deep down inside and change our attitude towards our lives and our work. It's time to set our egos aside, humble ourselves, and think about how we could better ourselves as human beings. It is only when we do this that customer service will improve.
