You want a customer service rant? I'll give you a rant....
" People who have never worked in customer service have absolutely no right to complain about their service unless they see the employee sitting down and doing nothing, or spitting in their food, or if the employee is downright surly. People who have never worked in customer service don't understand how much it sucks or how difficult it really is to be on your feet for eight hours in an ugly uniform, while being forced to pretend that you're just so happy to serve a bunch of rude and condescending people. So be nice to your waiter/barista/cashier/taxi driver/delivery boy/prostitute, they work hard, and being nasty to them because you can get away with it is a sure sign of a complete lack of class."
This is from someone's journal entry titled "R-E-S-P-E-C-T". Something we need a little more of in the world...
And I have just this to say...Ditto!

Hello there
First of all I would like to congratulate yoy for your excellent blog.
I work in customer care in Greece and I keep up on looking for new information about my (our) subject.
About the "customer service rant" post I want to comment that customer service is just a job. It's not a personal issue. Also, if you do not like it, don't do it. It is very simple. But you 're paid to do some specific work. And that is to take care of your customers. Whoever they are. It doesn't matter. They bring money to your company and they pay for your salary and your bonus.
So you are obligate to service those people. No matter how "bad" customers they are. If you cannot handle them, go to your supervisor.
Sorry for my not so good english!
