Guy Kawasaki made a great post at his website today called, The Art of Driving Your Competition Crazy. A great read... He offers eight tips to defeat the competition:
1. Know thyself - understand what your company stands for
2. Know thy customer (very important!)
3. Know thy enemy - understand their strengths and weaknesses
4. Focus on the customer - (need I say more?)
5. Turn customers into evangelists
6. Make good by doing good
7. Turn the competition into allies
8. Play with their minds - Guy offers some ways to have healthy, competitive fun
I always say that a little competition is good for the soul, but you don't want to become obsessed with what the competition is doing that you forget what is most important: your own customer.
