I love listening to music, but it's been awhile since I actually stepped foot into a music store. With so much technology out there these days, you can get music from just about anywhere except an actual record store.
Well, the Washington Post released an article today about Tower Records, (shouldn't the name be changed now to Tower CDs?), who is trying to attract back customers by giving away free music. The 46-year-old company used to make millions upon millions of dollars, but sales have suffered due to availability of music on the web. I have to admit, if it weren't for the fact that I do business near a Tower Records, I would have forgotten about them myself!
Customers can come download podcasts (Internet radio programs), at TowerPod.com, a website owned by Tower. The company hopes to generate revenue by inserting ads at the beginning and end of the downloads.
