The other day at the The Runway Scoop I touched upon the idea of judging people by the way they dress or look. This is a very touchy subject in the area of customer service.
It's a known fact that most of us on some level judge other people within the first ten seconds of looking at them. I have to admit that have done this in the past and definitely am working on not doing it anymore. I knew many people who did this at Nordstrom (Do they look like they have money? Are they dressed good? Oh, she looks like a crazy lady!).
Then there's the whole racial thing.... which I can go on for hours and hours about, but that would require another blog. It's a hard reality to face, but some people will not even greet you, let alone look at you if you are a person of color shopping in a place like say, Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus. (Believe me, I've experienced it first hand).
Will things ever change? It's just one of those questions that have you saying, "Only time will tell..."
