President Bush visited India this week and spoke about global trade and India's economy:
"The United States will not give into the protectionists and lose these opportunities,"
Bush said in a speech at Purana Qila, a historic fort here. "For the sake of workers in both our countries, America will trade with confidence."
I'm fully aware that many of India's people live in poverty, but it didn't really hit home with me until the other day when I watched Oprah Winfrey's show in which Meg Ryan talks about her visit to India. Meg learned about a lady who worked 10 hours a day and made $1.50 a day. It's very humbling to know and I've very grateful for what I have!
Yes, there are disadvantages to outsourcing customer service to India, but if we can help families get out of poverty, I think it's worth it. Outsourcing to India is forecasted to bring in $22 billion to India this year. My vote is yes to outsourcing to India!
