I'm in the market for a new car, but this time I want a hybrid car.
With gas prices rising and rising...and rising...and rising...it only makes good economical sense to buy a hybrid.
My current car is a Yukon (yes, I'm a truck girl) - and I love it. Although it wouldn't have been my father's first choice. (Refer to previous post on GM)
Despite their obvious struggles as a company, what I do love is that GM came out with the first hybrid pick-up. This is part of GM's commitment to the community. This from GM's Chairman, Rick Wagoner on the GM website:
"GM remains committed to leading not only from a business standpoint, but economically, socially and environmentally as well.
With so many people depending on the continued success of our company, we remain intensely focused on delivering strong results, with great cars and trucks, sustained profitability, lower emissions, strong community involvement and exemplary corporate citizenship. While living up to this commitment is at times very challenging, the men and women of GM are making important and measurable progress. "
Maybe this hybrid will help pull them out of their slump as more consumers like me are becoming environmentally aware. Time will only tell...
Are you making a commitment to the community, locally and globally, in all aspects of their lives?
