Employee Appreciation

What I learned during my management days at Wet Seal was that the employee appreciation.jpgbiggest complaint that most employees make is that they are not appreciated or recognized for the work that they do.  This is also one of the top reasons why people leave a company.  It's as simple as saying, "Thank you for all your hard work" every day to your employees.

I recommend implementing an "Employee of the Month" or some type of award to recognize people for displaying excellent customer service.  It's a great motivational tool and employees feel like they're appreciated.

Remind your employees constantly on what the standards are for excellent service and let them know why excellent service is valuable to the organization.  When you see them displaying good service, commend them on the spot.  You'll be surprised how much this boosts the moral within the team.
