It's most likely that we can't find a company that provides exceptional customer service 100% of the time. If you beg to differ, please let me know. Up until today, I thought In-N-Out had exceptional service (my food was really bad today). Besides that, every company I've ever had to deal with I've had mixed experiences. One day it's ok, other days it's good, and then there's the ocassional awful experience.
Over at Customer View we get a Tale of Two Service Experiences with Verizon, the first experience horrid and the second experience beyond this world.
Bottomline is - it's all about who you deal with. If you receive bad service with one person, go find somebody who is willing to help you. That's reality.
Wouldn't it be great if companies could fire people for providing awful service? When I was a manager I was known to write people up for poor service. It was viewed as harsh, but I think it's the only way for people to wake up and realize that customer service is priority.
