Avon, the largest direct seller of consumer products, announced that
they plan to lay off about 600 customer service reps nationwide and outsource those jobs overseas. These customer service reps being laid off worked with the field sales reps who worked with the customers.
It is sad to see people lose their jobs, but I always view hardships as blessings in disguise. When I was laid off after 9/11, I was sad at first, but I knew that the Universe had bigger plans for me. Besides, I wasn't particularly wild about the job anyways! (I took incoming calls and booked international airline tickets for a tour company).
Business is changing globally at a rapid speed. Like I always say, "job security" is non-existent. It's time to become independent!
