This is dedicated to those impatient customers....
As some of you know, I love to eat... Since I've started writing for this blog, I've noticed that I've had quite a few posts on my eating experiences (In-N-Out, Red Lobster, and Black Angus). I'm beginning to feel like one of them secret shoppers or somethin'. Well, this post is going to cover another eating experience - this time at IHOP (International House of Pancakes).
I walked in around 2 p.m. and the place was deserted except for the four tables occupied. I stood and waited for somebody to greet me - everyone who worked there was nowhere to be seen. I sat and waited....and waited... Finally! Someone appeared: Douglas - a happy-go-lucky guy who knew every adult contemporary song that was being played in the restaurant.
The service was speedy and my drink was filled constantly. One good thing about eating during slow times - you get treated like royalty :) It definitely made up for the wait at the beginning. And as the old saying goes - "Good things come to those who wait!"
And if you're ever in Mira Mesa (San Diego) and want to eat at IHOP, go see Douglas!

i am a man of 60 years, i have eaten at various IHOP resturants over the last 30 or so years. i always order pancakes with eggs.
today in Ft.Walton Beach, Fl. my groupe consisted of 5 people. three of us ordered three pancakes and three eggs. the eggs were to be over medium.
it took more than 30 minutes to get the meal, and no the place was not overcrowded. this was by far the worst meal that i have ever had in any resturant in my entire life. the pancakes were old and cold. it was almost like trying to eat paper. the eggs were cooked hard and cold. not just mine but all three. my brother ordered a BLT and he said that the bread was stale, my cousin ordered only tost and bocon and guess what, the toast was burned.
all of our bacon was very tough and cold.
there is no doubt in my mind that the meal had been sitting in the kitchen for a long time.
i informed the waitress that the meal was bad. actually i told her that it was terrible and not even worth throwing away.
she discounted me one meal. the problem is that out of loyalty to IHOP we bypassed 4 seperate Waffel Houses, a Denney's and a large number of other eating establishments and you stole time from us as well as a meal.
i can see no reason for my family to ever return to any IHOP in the future.
