
The struggle of General Motors Corp. occupies the front page of this month's issue of Forbes Magazine. I skimmed the somewhat long article and read about GM's bankruptcy issues in the past and present, the decline of their market share, sales figures, job losses, and union controversies. What I didn't read was a plan, if any, on how General Motors will get back their lost customers and that they're doing to improve customer satisfaction.
I guess it seems that people are holding onto that reputation of U.S. made cars - they're just not well built as foreign cars. Even my father used to tell me to always buy a Toyota or Honda because they were more reliable. This idea may not be true today, but the reputation still lingers.
It'll be interesting to see where GM is headed. What do you think? Could their problems be beyond customer satisfaction?
