Most great companies have one thing in common. They contribute to the 
greater good of their customers and to the community as a whole. Companies like Microsoft, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Dove - just to name a few - donate time and/or money to those less fortunate.
Dove has a program called the "Campaign For Real Beauty" that was launched not too long ago. It's purpose is help girls and women love and appreciate themselves for who they are and to discover their true, inner beauty. Microsoft donates computers to public libraries. Nordstrom, Macy's, and their respective employees donate money to thousands of nonprofit groups.
These are just a few examples of what great companies do to give back to the community. What goes around, comes around... As long as these companies keep giving back, they'll continue to thrive as businesses.
