As a customer service representative you want to remain professional at all times. Maintaining a professional demeanor seems pretty obvious to me, but recent shopping experiences have proven that not everybody is aware of how they are presenting themselves in front of customers.
For instance, at the grocery store the girl bagging groceries was chatting with someone and using profanity in her conversation. I was shocked and the cashier appeared to be embarrassed, but did not say anything to the bagger.
No-No #1: Don't curse in front of customers
Today I was shopping in a department store and overheard two associates talking about a customer that had just called. One associate was telling the other that the customer was "crazy" and "didn't know what she was talking about".
No-No #2: Never talk bad about customers in front of other customers
One of my biggest pet peeves when I was a manager was to hear associates talking about their personal life or what they did the night before while standing behind the cash wrap.
No-No #3: The whole store doesn't need to know your life story.
Am I the only one who feels this way?
